Karen Osterfoss Myers, 67, of Webster City, died Monday, November 02, 2009 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2009 at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Cemetery at Oskaloosa, at 3:00 p.m. Thursday. Visitation will be at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Webster City from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday. Arrangements were made with Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Karen JoAnn Picken, daughter of Donald and Joanna Sinclair Picken, was born May 19, 1942 at New York, NY. She received her education in the Cedar School, graduating in 1960. She attended A.I.B. in Des Moines and received a legal secretary degree. On April 9, 1961, she married Clyde DeVerne Osterfoss at Cedar. The couple resided at Burlington, Wyoming, IA and Malvern. They moved to Webster City in 1966, DeVerne was a teacher and coach at Northeast Hamilton. Mr. Osterfoss died in a train accident in March of 1968. Karen was employed at the Lee Law Office, later she was employed at the Myers Law Firm. On October 13, 1984, she married Howard Myers at Webster City. The couple resided north of Webster City.

Karen is survived by her husband, Howard; daughters and sons-in-law, Renee and Ron Godfredsen of Webster City; Sheri and Ed Curtin of Tucson, AZ; step-children, Eric and Maechelle Myers of Webster City; Todd Myers of Naples, FL; grandchildren; Ryan, Sarah, Sean and Seth Godfredsen; Eddie and Austin Curtin; Boone, Hannah and Olivia Myers; Marissa and Matt Myers; brother and sister-in-law, Rex and Becky Picken of Oskaloosa.

In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, in infancy, Kelly Jo Osterfoss.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church; Women's Bridge Club; Hamilton Hospital Auxiliary and the Blue Ribbon Foundation Iowa State Fair.
