Donitta Carlson, 79, of Gloucester, VA, a former Webster City resident, died Friday May 1, 2009 at the Riverside Walter Reed Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Fosters Chapel with Rev. David Doerr officiating. Burial will follow at the South Marion Cemetery, south of Stratford. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Donitta Faye Hyde, daughter of Dillman and Viola Worrel Hyde was born on August 20, 1929 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She received her education from the Fort Dodge Community Schools. On June 6, 1950 she married Oren Duane Carlson in Fort Dodge. The couple farmed southeast of Stratford before moving to Knoxville, Fort Dodge, and in 1970 to Webster City. Mr. Carlson died March 1, 1996. Donitta has been living in Virginia with her daughter Cindy since 1998. Mrs. Carlson's main vocation was as a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons, Duane A. Carlson of Webster City; Bryan Carlson of Belle Plaine; Kevin L. Carlson of Webster City; daughter, Cindy Kay (Dennis) Armbuster of Gloucester, VA; sister, Shirley Hottman of Champaign, IL; three devoted granddaughters, Amanda (Jonathan) Bowman, Kalyn E. Saylor, Stephanie F. Saylor; and several nieces and nephews.
