Mark L. Berogan, 94, formerly of Blairsburg died Sunday, October 11, 2009 at the St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at the Faith United Methodist Church, Webster City. Interment will held in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

Mark was born Oct. 28, 1914 the son of Lester L. and Maggie M. (Evans) Berogan in Blairsburg Township, Hamilton County, Iowa. On May 10, 1935 Mark was united in marriage to Violet Berleen in Galena, IL. To this union two daughters were born: Beth (Larry) Fankhauser and Beverly (Byron) Blackburn.

Mark had a quiet strength and a dependence on Jesus. Over the years he served on various boards and was involved in many church activities. He was extremely proud and humbled by the land he farmed and raised his family on. Mark enjoyed teaching his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to respect the land as well as teach them a proper work ethic. For many years Mark showed registered milking shorthorns at the county and state level bringing home numerous awards. Mark was a peacemaker and one you could count on if you needed a hug. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Those thankful for having shared in Mark's life include his children: Beth (Larry) Fankhauser, Beverly (Byron) Blackburn, one sister: Mildred Myers, five grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren.

Mr. Berogan was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Violet and a sister Freda Irving.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Bruce-Graham Funeral Home, Fort Dodge.
