Myron Royal "Roy" Smith, 50, passed away Sept. 23, 2009 at Clarion after a battle with cancer.

He was born on Sept. 30, 1959 in Grundy Center, the fifth child of Theodore Smith Sr., and Agnes Muller Smith. He grew up on the family farm near Shell Rock. He attended the Waverly-Shell Rock School System.

Myron helped his father farm for many years before going into the construction business with his brother, Steven Smith, in the Clarion area.

He was preceded in death by his father, step-father Louis Churchill, step-father Gilbert Samuel, one brother, Roger Smith, and a brother-in-law Duane Vbra.

Myron is survived by his mother, Agnes Samuel of Clarion; his brothers, Theodore (Jolene) Smith Jr., Clarion, Richard (Charlene) Smith, Glenwood, Ark.; Steven (Debbie) Smith, Clarion; Marilyn (Roger) Vansickel, Radcliffe, and Darlene (John) Pommer, Altoona; many nieces and nephews.

A private family memorial was held in Clarion Monday, Sept. 28, 2009.
