Lloyd Keith Buckels, Sr., 94, of Jewell, died of cancer Sunday at his home. funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell with the Rev. H. Dean Stille officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Jewell.

Lloyd Keith Buckels, Sr., was born in Lakins Grove to William Frances and Genevieve (Willis) Buckels. He attended Lyon Township and Jewell public schools. On June 29, 1929, he married Anna Olava Hia at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They farmed north of Jewell, moving to town in May of 1973. He was a member of the Federated United Church of Christ in Jewell and a 71 year member of the Grand Lodge of Iowa A.F.&A.M.

Survivors include one son, James Orlean Buckels of Vista, Calif.; three daughters, Janice Joyce (Wayne) Samuelson of Jewell; Colleen Joan (Julian) Ossman of Jefferson City, MO, and Judy Marlaine (Rodney)Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Faye (Kennedy) Buckels; 14 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olava; one daughter, Janett Joan Buckels; one son, Lloyd K Buckels, Jr.; one brother, William Buckels; and one sister, Dorothy (Buckels) Alsager.

Visitation will be tonight at Becker Funeral Home in Jewell, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m.
