Margaret Hanson, 78, Stanhope
Surrounded by her loving family, angels accompanied Margaret from Israel Family Hospice House, home to her heavenly Father, on Monday, August 17, 2009.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Foster Chapel with Rev. Suzie Moore officiating. Burial will be in Lawn Hill Cemetery, southeast of Stanhope. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.

Margaret Ann Hill, daughter of Cecil and Flo Workman Hill, was born February 1, 1931 at Stanhope. She attended Stanhope Consolidated School graduating in 1948. On June 19, 1949, she married Dale Eugene Hanson at Dale's parents home northeast of Stanhope. She worked as secretary to the superintendent in the Stanhope Consolidated School, later working with the South Hamilton Community School. She also helped her husband with their farming operation and helped organize the Stanhope Medical Clinic and worked for Dr. Latella when he opened a practice. She drove school bus for several years.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dale; daughters, Sheri Severson (Steve Nibe) of Story City; Dalene Hanson of Stanhope; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Connie Hanson of Webster City; grandsons and wives, Seth and Willow Hill; Drew Hanson; Dustin and Courtney Hanson; Devan Hanson and Jacob Severson; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Hill of Stanhope; sister, Virginia Welch of Omaha; several nieces and nephews. She was also a special grandma to granddogs, Chloe,

Max, Rascal and Briggs. Margaret was a loving, caring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who continually found ways to impact others by extending kindness and love. Her shining presence will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Hill, in infancy; Richard Hill; sisters, Cecil Henderson; Harriett Norrisand Shirley Robinson.

Margaret was a member of the Stanhope Parish, Stanhope Parish Choir, former member of the Women of the Moose, JM Club of Stanhope, Eastern Star and the Stanhope Red Hat Ladies. A volunteer and organizer for Stanhope Watermelon Day and Wednesday Night in the Park.

The family is humbled and grateful for the love, compassion and sensitivity shown by the Israel Hospice House staff in providing exceptional and loving care for our wife and mother.
