Michael R. Pallesen, 55, of 6011 Langdon Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died June 20, 1998. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 24, 1998, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home, by the Rev. Paul Scheidt.

Survivors include his wife, Helen; daughter, Sara Pallesen Fry and husband Kristin Fry of Iowa City; daughter, Jennifer L. Pallesen of Cedar Rapids; his parents, Harold and Darlene Pallesen of Nevada; a sister, Lynn Cayler and husband Jerry Cayler of Galt; and nieces and nephews.

Born Jan. 8, 1943, in Webster City, Iowa, to Harold E. and Darlene Carroll Pallesen, he married Helen M. Markmann on April 2, 1970, in Rock Island, Ill. Mike was a journeyman plumber and was currently the business agent for and a member of Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local No. 125. For more than 20 years, Mike was a devoted fast pitch softball player. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids Softball Hall of Fame, Iowa softball Hall of Fame and the All World Tournament Team for the 1972 World Fast Pitch Softball Tournament.

Mike will always be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father, son, brother and friend. He will always be our hero.
