Kenneth R. Belew, 80, Webster City died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at his home.

He was born the son of Curtis Preston Belew and Mary Edith Irene (Dowd) on May 24, 1929, in Redfield, Iowa. He received his education in the Redfield/Dexter area.

He was married on August 8th, 1965 to Wilma Jean Humble in Elkhorn, SD. They made their home in Webster City. Prior to retirement, he managed the Hunter Oil Company, which became Hunter's Handy Stop, now Kum and Go, on Superior Street.

He is survived by his wife, W. Jean, and was the proud father of five daughters, Judith Ann Belew; Linda (Herb) Culpepper, Tempe, AZ; Brenda (Henry) Shaffer, Tucson, AZ; Linda (Bill) Conaway and Cindy (Ivan) Angstrom, both of Webster City. Seven grandchildren, Michelle Planek, William Culpepper III, Jenni Moreno, Preston Angstrom, Stacey Conaway, Amber Angstrom, Bryan Conaway, and six great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers; Clifford (Anita) Belew of Hamilton, MT and Raymond (Glynda) Belew, Corning, California, and two sisters; Phyllis (Larry) Wagoner, Casa Grande, AZ and Evelyn Nourse, Des Moines, many nieces and nephews He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Maxine Roland, one brother, Richard, and his daughter Judith.

He enjoyed camping, was an avid fisherman and loved to bird watch.

At his request, there will be no public funeral service, only a family memorial service. Memorials may be left to the discretion of his family.
