Dewey Olson, 75, of Russellville, Ark., died Sunday, September 23, 2007, at his home.

He was born October 14, 1931 in Roland, Iowa, to the Rev. Milford Olson and Effie Arneson Olson. He was a United States Army veteran and retired in 1991 from ConAgra/ Morton Frozen Foods as the Shipping Manager. He attended the Russellville Christian Center. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and most importantly, spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, the Rev. Milford Olson and two brothers, Richard and David Olson and a sister-in-law, Betty Olson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Janice Olson of Russellville; four sons, Dennis and Don, both of Russellville, Arkansas, Doug of San Antonio, Texas, and Dean of Conway, Arkansas; his mother, Effie Olson of Russellville; six brothers and one sister; Ronald of Dardanelle, Stanley of Russellville, Orland of Sun City West, Arizona, James of Dardanelle, Miriam Greenfield of Jewell, Iowa, Kenneth of Centerville, Steve of Russellville; six grandchildren, Christopher of Conway, Alicia of Denver, Colorado, Dereck of Okinawa, Japan, Ashton of Russellville, and Caleb and Corey of San Antonio, Texas.

The funeral will be 2 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2007 at the Shinn Chapel with Rev. Mike Danchenko presiding. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday at Shinn Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Pope County Health Department Hospice, 404 North El Paso Avenue, Russellville, Arkansas 72801.
