Leonard D. Howd, 101, of Webster City, died Thursday, September 20, 2007 at Crestview Senior Living. Private services were held at Graceland Cemetery.

Leonard Delmar Howd, son of Eli and Etta Heidick Howd, was born September 21, 1906 at Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City school system. On May 28, 1931 he married Edith Frances Hoover at Eldora. He had farmed in the Duncombe and Webster City areas. He also had worked at Middleton Produce for over 30 years. Edith died in February of 2000.He had resided at Crestview Senior Living since 1998.

Leonard is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Martha and John Eige of San Jose, CA; Roseann Amundson of Jewell; sons and daughter-in-law, Eldon and Doree Howd of Sun City West, AZ; Delmar Howd of Elizabethtown, NC; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and 2 nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ralph Howd.

He was a lifetime member of the Izaak Walton League, enjoyed the outdoors and cherished the fishing trips with friends
