Ruth Klaver, 85, Webster City, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center at Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Pete Peterson officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery, east of Kamrar. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and at the church prior to the service.

Ruth Wilhelmina Schaa, daughter of Ben and Josephine Brockschmidt Schaa, was born Feb. 20, 1922, on a farm east of Kamrar. She attended rural schools in the Kamrar area. On Jan. 23, 1941, she married Melbourne H. Klaver at the First Presbyterian Church at Kamrar. The couple farmed in the Kamrar and Jewell areas for many years. They retired to Webster City in 1979. Mr. Klaver died March 23, 2005.

Mrs. Klaver is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Rosalie and Mike Hames; Joyce and Jack Ferrell; Gloria Knight, all of Webster City and Carolyn Klaver, daughter-in-law, of Dubuque; grandchildren, Janel McCaffery; Nancy Baack; Brad Hames; John Ferrell; Julie Spore; Dustin Moothart; Kory Moothart and Katherine Knight; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, DeLoris Schaa of Webster City; Esther Knutson of Olathe, KS; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by son, Leland James Klaver, November of 2002; grandson, Kent L. Klaver in 1989; her parents and brother, Harold Schaa.

She was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and active in church circle work; a former longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church; she enjoyed sewing and quilting and received great pleasure in watching the accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
