The family of James W. Johnson, 65, grieves his passing at his home in Reno, Nev. Jim was born April 8, 1942 to Walter and Fannie Timmer Johnson in Boone.

Raised on the family farm near Stanhope, Jim graduated from Stanhope High School in 1961 and the University of Northern Iowa in 1965. Following graduation, he was employed at Principal Financial in Des Moines, later working for Frontier Airlines, living in Colo., Wyo., Ariz., and Nevada. Jim enjoyed traveling and camping in his spare time. An avid reader, he was knowledgeable in a variety of topics and enjoyed discussing his opinions with family and friends alike.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Lisa Christie of Alexandria, VA., a brother, John and Lynn Johnson of Boone, nephews Joe Johnson of Boone and Jeff Johnson of Seattle, Wash.

He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Fannie Johnson. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
