Dolores M. Kloberdanz, 84, of Webster City, died Thursday January 1, 2009 at the Southfield Wellness Community. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Burial will be in Cass Township Cemetery northeast of Webster City. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday evening and after 9 a.m. Monday at Fosters.

Dolores Margaret Davis, daughter of Frazier and Clara Smith Davis, was born on March 14, 1924, in the Humboldt Township in Humboldt County, Iowa. She received her education from the Clarion High School, graduating in 1941. Following her graduation, she worked for Leatha and Jacks Caf. In 1943, she attended the Civil Aeronautic Administration Communications Training Center in Kansas City, MO. From 1943 to 1945, she worked as an Aircraft Communicator in Lamoni, IA; Kansas City, MO; and Salt Lake City, UT. Dolores married Jacob P. Kloberdanz in September 1948. The couple later divorced. She worked for Northwestern Bell (QWEST) as a telephone operator in Clarion, Webster City, and Des Moines until retiring in 1985. She had resided at Southfield since February 2003.

Dolores is survived by her children, Karen Orr of Warner Robins, GA, Alex Kloberdanz of Webster City, Donald (Sara) Kloberdanz of Forney, TX, Margaret (Dwight Tuel) Orr of Lehigh, Dolores (James) Yenck of Story City, Jerome (Lori) Kloberdanz of Webster City, Linda (Dan Myers) Kloberdanz of Webster City, Dennis Peter (Andrea) Kloberdanz of Lehigh, Virginia Kloberdanz of Webster City and Michael Kloberdanz of Fort Dodge; 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Mike Bednar of Fort Dodge; and her dearest lifelong friends, Virginia Knosby of Webster City, Ida Kretlow of Duncombe and Deloris Moon Oxley of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and nine sisters.

Dolores was a member of the Communications Workers of America and the Telephone Pioneers. Memorials may be given in memory of Dolores to Youth and Family Services of Webster City or Toys for Toys.
