Mildred M. Rhiner, the daughter of Harvey and Elsie Robertson, was born July 5, 1925 in Madrid, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, and attended schools in the Belmond area.

Mildred was united in marriage to George Junior Rhiner on December 7, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple lived in Goldfield until the late 50's, then the Belmond and Webster City areas, and in October of 1967 they moved to Williams, Iowa. In 1996 she moved to Huxley with her daughter Julie, and in 2001 they moved to Colo.

Mildred worked in the twin cities, making bomb racks during WWII, was a school lunch cook and a home health aide. She was also a homemaker. Mildred helped in the nursery at Asbury UMC and was a member of the United Methodist Church. Her grandchildren were her greatest hobby, and she also loved her family, camping, fishing, gardening, country music and dancing.

Mildred passed away Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George in 1984; son, Jerry who died in his youth and brothers and sisters, John, Bob, Elsie, Florence, Nell and Tom.

Survivors include her daughters Debra Rhiner (Paul Williams) Schnell of Hayward, Minnesota, and Julie Rhiner of Colo, Iowa; grandsons, Chad (Heather) Schnell of Webster City and Troy Schnell of Williams; great grandchildren, Braeden and Emilee and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 5, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Goldfield with Pastor Mike Agnew officiating. Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery at Goldfield. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
