Mark Joseph Berger, son of Joe and Jean Scharfenkamp Berger, was born July 12, 1962 at Saint Anthony's Hospital in Carroll. As a young boy he moved with his parents to Webster City and graduated from Webster City High School in 1981. He graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 1986 with his BA. In 1992 Mark moved to Clear Lake, where he was employed at Serta Mattress Factory in Clear Lake.

Mark is survived by his parents, Joe and Jean Berger of Webster City; brother and sister-in-law Kent and Janet Berger of Appleton, WI; Keith Berger of Des Moines and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and a sister in infancy, Lisa Marie Berger.

He is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Clear Lake and former member of St. Thomas Aquinas in Webster City. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for 27 years. He also took great pride in being a loving uncle to his two nieces and nephew.

Some of his various interests were: being an avid Viking/UNI Panther fan and overall sport enthusiast. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends. In his spare time he liked to collect classic TV shows and movies and was a volunteer for many community projects.

We will truly miss Mark; our kindhearted son, brother, and uncle. Please feel free to write a personal tribute or light a virtual candle for the family at:
