Gladys M. Andrew, 92, of State Center, passed away Monday, December 15, 2008, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 19, 2008, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor DeWayne Teig officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery in Webster City. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Mitchell Family Funeral Home West Marshall Chapel in State Center. For condolences, visit www.mitchellfh.com. Gladys Marie Jensen was born on January 5, 1916, to Soren and Juliane (Kolling) Jensen on a farm near Jewell, Iowa. She graduated from Jewell High School in 1934. On February 25, 1939, she was united in marriage to Delbert Andrew in Webster City, where they made their home until 1962. The couple and their children then moved to State Center, where they operated Del's Food Market until their retirement in 1977. Mrs. Andrew was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and flowers.

She is survived by her daughter, Julie (David) Brown of Glenview, IL; her son, Jerry Andrew of Leadville, CO; her grandson, Steven Oleson of Marshalltown; her great-grandchildren, Grace, Gabriel, Gavyn, and Grayson Oleson; and her brother, Mervin Jensen, of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delbert, who passed away in May, 1985; her three sisters, Helena Fosse, Martha Hanson, and Florence Thompson, and her four brothers, Hans Jensen, Alfred Jensen, Bob Jensen, and Edwin Jensen.
