Avenelle Koop, 83, of Webster City, a former Kamrar resident died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008 at Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday, 10:30 a.m at the First Presbyterian Church, east of Kamrar, with Rev. John Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Presbyterian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Avenelle Kathryn Stoll, daughter of George and Kathryn Happel Stoll, was born August 7, 1925 on a farm northeast of Boone. She attended a rural school in Garrison Township of Boone county and high school at Story City. Following her mother's death, she stayed home to care for her father. On March 8, 1945, she married John A. Koop at Kamrar. The couple farmed east of Kamrar. She was a caregiver and homemaker. She made a lot of friends traveling to horse sales, navigating the way with John. John died June 3, 1991. She continued to reside on the family farm. In March of 2007, she moved to her daughter's home in Webster City.

Avenelle is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Kathryn Koop of Webster City; Mary and Thomas Clausen of Duncombe; Valerie Achtemeier of Pasadena, CA; son and daughter-in-law, John and Jodi Koop of Kamrar; grandchildren, John Clinton Koop; T.J. Clausen; Amanda Koop; Paul Clausen; Kelsey Koop; Joey Koop and Lauren Achtemeier; sister, Arlene Nelson of Boone; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by twin daughters, Karen and Karlene Koop; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Erma Stoll; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, E. F. Nelson; Jerry and Harriett Jensen; Wilke and Hilka Heeren; Anthony and Jennie Blue; Adolph and Treva Koop and Arthur and Velma Blue.

She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Boone; a member of the First Presbyterian Church, east of Kamrar; Dorcas Circle and the Neighborhood Coffee Club.
