L.C. Henderson Rites Thursday

Services for Lewis C. Henderson, 78, of 813 E. Twelfth St. who died at Iowa Lutheran Hospital Monday of a heart attack following surgery will be at noon Thursday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Henderson worked as a street car conductor, an employee of the city streets department and as a dishwasher before he retired 13 years ago. Born in Hamilton County, he lived in Des Moines 51 years and was a member of Central Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife, Omine; two daughters, Mrs. Diela Hartman and Mrs. Lillian Beener, both of Des Moines; four sons, George, Richard and Morton of Des Moines and Robert of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Johnson of Lemon Grove, Calif.; two brothers, Norman of Marquette, Neb. and Arthur of Des Moines; 24 grandcildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
