CURTIS D. HENDERSON

Curtis Delmar Henderson, born to Charlie and Emma Henderson on January 11, 1913 at Radcliffe, Iowa, passed away June 28, 1975 at his rural Zearing farm home at the age of 62. He had been in ill health for the past year and one half. He grew up in the Hamilton and Story County area and graduated from the Zearing High School in 1931.
Curtis started farming with his step-father, Martin Holland and continued to farm North West of Zearing for the remainder of his life. He had been a life time member of Bethany Lutheran Church of McCallsburg and Bergen Lutheran Church of Roland. He also served on several Farm Bureau committees and the Story County Extension Service.
On June 10, 1944 he was united in marriage to Leona Thorsnes at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City.
Survivors include his wife, Leona; three sons, Carroll of Miland, Minn., Donald and Dave both at home; three daughters, Mrs. Richard (Linda) Plum of Harlan, Iowa, Mrs. Herb (Jean) Wilson of Guttenberg, Iowa and Mrs. Don (Julia) Bosma of Ocheyedan, Iowa; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant brother.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from Bergen Lutheran Church, Roland. The Rev. Howard M. Lybeck was in charge. Harris Twedt, Sr. was soloist, Mrs. Robert Eischen was organist. Pallbearers were Curtis Womeldorf, Paul Lundy, Gordon Lundy, Henry Borts, Harold Britten, Myron Gildersleeve. Honorary Pallbearers were Art Holland, Melbourne Henderson, Carroll Pearson, Peter J. Redling, Carroll Vinsel, Fred Varnum.
