Lois Anne McCollough, a resident of Autumn Leaves Living Center in Grapevine, TX, passed away on December 18, 2007 at the age of 74. Lois was born in Dubuque, IA and attended school in Webster City. She was valedictorian of the Lincoln High School Class of 1951, graduated from Cottey College, Nevada, MO in 1953, and obtained her teaching degree at Iowa State University. She taught math at ISU and went on to teach school in Harlingen, TX and Chino, CA. A member of the P.E.O. sisterhood for more than fifty years, Lois was initiated into Chapter EL, Webster City.

Lois was the daughter of longtime Webster City residents Frank and Maude Talcott. She is survived by her sons, Alex (Tanya) McCollough of La Quinta, CA, Vance (Karen) McCollough of Southlake, TX, and Ward McCollough of Santa Clarita, CA; her sister and brother-in-law, Beth and Lee Christiansen of Portland, OR, her sister-in-law, Barbara Talcott of Tacoma, WA, 4 granddaughters and 4 grandsons. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her son, Grant McCollough, her sisters, Joyce Vance and Jean Wicks, and her brother, Richard Talcott.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, April 26, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church UCC in Webster City with Reverend Howard Hunt officiating. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery. The family suggests memorials in Lois’ name be sent to Cottey College, Department of Institutional Advancement, 1000 W. Austin, Nevada, MO 64772, or, to the Kendall Young Library, 1201 Willson Avenue Webster City, Iowa 50595.
