Donald D. Bourne, 79 of Webster City entered into eternal life Sunday, April 27, 2008 at the Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Thursday morning, May 1st at the Faith United Methodist Church in Webster City. Burial with military honors will be in the Cass Center Cemetery, rural Webster City. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 pm Wednesday evening at the Faith United Methodist Church. Memorials may be directed to the Crestview Senior Living Center in Webster City. The Pursel-Davis Funeral Home & Crematory in Marshalltown is caring for Don and his family.

Donald was born on June 1, 1928 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Kenneth and Thelma (McConnell) Bourne. He grew up in Webster City and later in Union, IA where he graduated from the Union High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seabees and honorably served our country from 1948-1952. In March 1951, he was united in marriage to Blanche Meagher and the couple lived in California from 1952 - 1965 where Don was a crane operator. In 1965, they moved to Ellsworth until 1967 when they moved to Webster City where Don was involved in farming. They moved to Alden, MN in 1974 and Don was employed in road construction. Shortly after Blanche's death in 1985, Don moved back to Webster City where he was active in assisting area farmers with their work. Don will be remembered for his musical talents that he shared with his family and his community.

Left to cherish his memory are his four children: Amy Johnson (Rich Eckert) of Storm Lake, Michael (Cindy) Bourne of Dallas, TX, Jill (Jim) Miller of Clear Lake and John (Linda) Bourne of Webster City; a sister, Marilyn Teckenberg of Jamestown, ND; five grandchildren: Talitha Johnson (Ben Nagel) of Altoona, PA, Nick Bourne of West Des Moines, Heidi Miller of Clear Lake, Jerrad Bourne of Minneapolis, MN, and Joshua Miller of Phoenix, AZ; two great grandchildren, Kaiden Nagel and Kyra Ann. Also left to cherish his memory are Hillary and Tyler Reinert of Storm Lake and Bob and Ramona Hild of Webster City.

In eternal life, Don joins his parents; his wife, Blanche; brothers, Larry and Dean Bourne; granddaughters, Sarah Johnson and Holly Miller; and his son-in-law, David Johnson.
