Shirley Teigen, age 81 of Webster City died Sunday, February 24, 2008 at CareAge Care Center in Clarion, Iowa. Funeral service will be Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 1:30p.m. at Petersen Lund Funeral Home 505 N Clark St in Forest City Iowa with Rev. Travis Schmidt, Pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Shirley Mae Teigen was born in Forest City, Iowa on April 28, 1926, the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Hanna) Smith. She graduated from Riceville High School in 1944.

She was united in marriage to Hans S. Teigen at Glenville, Minnesota in 1946. Shirley continued her education and graduated from the Nursing Program at Iowa Central Community College in 1969. Hans passed away in 1982.

Shirley worked at the Hamilton City Public Hospital as a nurse's aide and nurse for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Webster City and was a Girl Scout leader there for 10 years.

She is survived by one brother, James (Jack) Smith of Klemme, Iowa, nine nieces and five nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Hans and three sisters, Maxine Kapka, June Smith and Ruth Buckley.
