Gladys Bernice Larson, 91, died peacefully on Dec. 9, 2007.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, of 63 years. Survivors include her daughters, Marlene Mahoney (Minneapolis), Ann Larson (Santa Maria), Jerilyn Cavaliere (Phoenix), Elaine Martin (Orange) and Sharon Brunell (Santa Maria). She was very proud of her 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Gladys was born Dec. 18, 1915 in Williams, Iowa to R.T. and Bertha Halsne. She met Clarence Larson on a blind date and they were married in 1935. Gladys and Clarence farmed for nearly 50 years and moved to Santa Maria in 1981 where she worked at Gottschalks until 1986. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Services will be held at the Dudley Hoffman Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Herb Burch of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow the service in Santa Maria Cemetery.
