Heart Attack Proves Fatal, Mrs Josie Stoufer, 84, Found Dead at Home in Blairsburg

Blairsburg, Iowa, March 2-------Mrs Josie (VanBuren) Stoufer, 84, was found dead at her home here this morning, death being caused by a heart attack and complications arising from old age. Funeral arrangements are pending. Mrs Stoufer, who lived alone, was found slumped in a chair in the kitchen of her home by her granddaughter, Miss Fern Rairdin, at 8 a.m. She apparently was preparing breakfast when she suffered the attack. Mrs Stoufer was born April 19, 1854, in Cooperstown, NY, and moved to Blairsburg in 1900 where she had made her home ever since.

She is survived by six children: Mrs Lottie Rairdin, Woodlake, Minn, Mrs Cora Rairdin, Blairsburg, Elmer Stoufer, Mayodan, N.C., Edith Stoner, Unadilla, Neb., Ray Stoufer, Echo, Minn, Ernest Stoufer, Kingsley.
