Services for Obert J. Hia, 71, of 4120 Columbia St., who died at Mercy Hospital Tuesday, will be at noon Friday at Hamilton's Funeral Home. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery.

Mr. Hia, a native of Ellsworth, lived in Des Moines 38 years and was a salesman for the American Republic Insurance Co. before retiring six years ago. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Veva, a stepson, Robert Ball of Concord, Calif., four sisters, Mrs. Anna Anderson of Ames, Mrs. Alice Mortvedt of Story City, Mrs. Lulu Wierson of Roland, and Mrs. Olava Buckels of Jewell; two brothers, Selmar of Mission, Kansas., and Arnold of Webster City, and two grandchildren.
