Anton Rasmussen Died Tuesday P.M.

Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon of this week, at 1:30 o'clock, at the Becker funeral home in Jewell and 2 o'clock at the Lutheran church for Mr. Anton Rasmussen who died at his home in Jewell Tuesday afernoon at 4:30 o'clock. The service will be conducted by Rev. M.E. Neese, pastor of Bethesda Lutheran Church of Jewell. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery in Jewell.

Anton Rasmussen, resident of this community for sixty years, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Rasmussen, he was born May 31, 1871, at Horning, Denmark, came to America in the year 1889 and has lived ever since in Jewell and vicinity. He passed away Dec 6, 1949, at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 6 days.

He attended school at Bjerge, Denmark, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Denmark. Since coming to America he has farmed exept for 7 years whe he was in the creamery business. He had been retired since 1934.

Mr. Rasmussen married Bergitta Rasmussen in 1901, eight children being born to their union. He is survived by his wife, 3 sons; Howard of Jewell, Roy of Fort Dodge, and Harry of Webster City; and 4 daughters; Mrs. George Harman of Eagle Grove, Mrs. Clarence Ostrem of Fort Doge, Mrs. Yorke Johnson of Stanhope, and Mrs. Frank Morris of Oakland, California. Other suviving relatives include 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and one sisiter, Mrs. Steffen Nelson of Jewell, beside many more distant relatives and many friends in this community where he has lived all of this adult live.

Mr. Rasmussen was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church of Jewell.
