Miss Arlene Wood and Mr. Seward H. Smith Married at Blairsburg
A wedding ceremony of interest in the county took place Christmas Eve at 7 o'clock at the home of the bride in Blairsburg, when Miss Arlene Wood, daughter of Joe W. Wood, was united in marriage to Seward. H. Smith, son of Dr. and Mrs. A. Dwight Smith, of Glendale, Calif.
The single ring service was read by the Rev. R.N. Culbertson in the presence of the immediate families. The attendants were Miss Nona Wood, of Marshalltown, sister of the bride, and Mr. William Smith, brother of the bridegroom.
Preceding the ceremony Miss Lucille Smith, cousin of the bridegroom, played "The Bridal Chorus" from "Lohengrin" as a processional.
The bride was very pretty in a light blue crepe frock with harmonizing accessories. Her attendant wore a dress of black and gold with accessories to match.
Mrs. Smith was graduated from the Blairsburg high school with the class of 1934.
Mr. Smith was graduated from the high school of Glendale, Calif., and also attended junior college there. Later he came to Blairsburg where he has been employed on his uncle's farm.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith left from Ames Christmas night for Glendale where they plan to visit at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Smith for a month. At the conclusion of the visit they will return to Blairsburg, where they will make their home.

Mr. and Mrs. Seward L. Smith and family.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Smith and daughters, Marilyn and Joan.
Mr. and Mrs. W.E. LeClair.
The Rev. and Mrs. Culbertson.Mr. and Mrs. Seward H. Smith were honored at a party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Seward L. Smith Christmas day. It was also the birthdays of Mrs. Seward L. Smith and Mrs. Seward H. Smith, and the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Smith.
At 1 o'clock the guests were seated at one long table, festively decorated with wreaths, the wedding cake, topped with the miniature bride and bridegroom centering the table. Then too, there was the birthday cake topped by the proper number of candles.
A turkey dinner was served.
Present were: Mr. and Mrs. Seward H. Smith, Mr. and Mrs Seward L. Smith, Joe W. Wood and daughters, Nona and Thelma, and sons, Warren, Joe Jr., and Kenneth, the Rev. R.N. Culbertson, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Smith and daughters, Marilyn and Joan, Ruby and Lyman Greiner, Dwight, Lucille, Loraine and William Smith.
Owing to the extreme cold weather and illness, Mr. and Mrs. W.E. LeClair and Mrs. Culbertson and children were unable to be present.
