Blairsburg Young People Are Wed.
Harmon-Evans and Gleason-Maubach Nuptials Celebrated.

Blairsburg, Iowa, Aug 20. (Special) -- Miss Wilma Harmon, daughter of Mrs. Will Harmon, of Jewell, and Mr. Merle Evans, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Evans, of Blairsburg, were united in marriage at 3 o'clock yesterday in the Congregational parsonage at Webster City by the Rev. Richard S. Haney.

The young couple were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Evans.

The bride is the youngest daughter of Mrs. Will Harmon, of Jewell. She graduated from the Blairsburg high school with the class of '26. She has been prominent in athletics and last year served as captain of the girls' basket ball [sic] team.

The groom is the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E.B. Evans and has spent his entire life in this community. He graduated from the local high school with the class of '26 and distinguished himself in scholastic and athletic ability. He served as president of the student council and captain of the boys' basket ball [sic] team. During his last year he had the distinction of winning the medal for having the highest grades of any local athlete and of any county captain.

Mr. and Mrs. Evans are both well and favorably known here and have a host of friends, who will join in wishing them a long and prosperous wedded life. They will make their home for the present at the home of the groom's parents.

[The Gleason-Maubach wedding shared in the title, but was not presented together in the book. They can be found under their own heading.)
