Farley-Scott Wedding at Blairsburg.

A very beautiful home wedding was solemnized Friday evening at 7 o'clock at the George E. Farley home, northeast of Blairsburg, when Mr. and Mrs. Farley gave their youngest daughter, Miss Fern, in marriage to Mr. Earl Banker Scott, of Winterset.

Just proceeding the ceremony Miss Irene McNee sang, "I Love You Truly" and "at Dawning" accompanied on the piano by Mr. Geo. F. Castner.

To the strains of Mendelssohn's wedding march played by Mr. Castner, the bridal procession led by little Lorene Chantrill, niece of the bride, descended the stairs, after whom came the brides maids, Miss Ethel Erickson, of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Ralph Allen, of Aurora, and Miss Irene McNee, of Blairsburg. Following the bridesmaids came the maid of honor, Miss Russia Harris, of Adair; last came the bride accompanied by her father. They were met at an improvised alter of smilax, roses, carnations and ferns, by the groom and his best man, Mr. Russell Farley. Dr. L. Myron Boozer, of Ames, officiating, read the single ring ceremony. During the ceremony Mr. Castner played softly on the piano. The bride wore a period design dress of ivory satin and shadow lace with Russian style crown and veil and carried a shower bouquet of roses and valley lilies tied with shadow lace to match the gown. The little flower girl wore a beautiful pink crepe frock, carrying a basket of roses. The maid of honor and the bridesmaids wore bouffant taffeta gowns, with colonial bouquets of roses and daisies hanging from the wrist.

Following the ceremony a three course dinner was served at small tables, each table centered with roses and smilax. Miss Evelyn Chantrill and Freda Davis, wearing caps and aprons, gifts from the bride, assisted at the tables. An immense bride's cake, of great beauty, was cut by the bride and served to the guests.

Mrs Scott was a graduate of the Blairsburg High school and received her B.A. degree in 1925 at the I.S.T.C. at Cedar Falls. A year later she received her master of arts degree at the University of Chicago. She was a member of the Phi Beta sorority and Pi Kappa Delta forensic fraternity, with rank of special distinction. She was a member of the faculty of the Kansas State Teachers college of Emparia 1926 and 1927, and of the Virginia, Minn., Junior college in 1927 and 1928.

Mr. Scott is a son of Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Scott, of Winterset. He is a graduate of the Iowa State college of Ames, where he received his bachelor of science degree in 1926. He is a member of the Delta Chi fraternity.

After viewing the many beautiful gifts the couple left on a honeymoon and business trip to Washington D.C., where they will remain until October, when they will return and be at home to their friends in Boone.

The guests were: Mr. and Mrs. T.M. Scott, of Winterset; Mrs. Hattie Legett, of St. Charles; Mr. and Mrs. John B. Hanson, A.E. Brandhard and Mr. and Mrs. Guy A. Rinehart, of Ames; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Allen and son, Bobby, of Aurora; Miss Ethel Erickson, of Cedar Falls; Russia Harris, of Adair; B.F. Akers, of Indiana, and Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Farley, Russell and James Farley, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Davis and family, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur T. Chantrill and daughters, Mr. and Mrs. Jas. W. McNee and daughter, Miss Irene, and Geo. F.
