Milton K. Larimer, 80, of Stuart, Iowa passed away December 5, 2011 at the Kavanagh House in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2011 at the Johnson Family Funeral Home in Stuart. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Family Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service in the South Oak Grove Cemetery with full military rites. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stuart American Legion in care of Johnson Family Funeral Home, PO Box 246, Stuart, Iowa 50250. Milton was born July 23, 1931 in Iowa City, Iowa to Hubert Leroy and Thelma (Haynes) Larimer. He was a Korean War Veteran, life member of the American Legion, member of the Am Vets, the Painter Local 246 for 40 years, and member of the Stuart Fire Department for 14 years and was employed by the Des Moines Public Schools for 40 years before retiring.
He is preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Thelma Larimer and brothers, Harold and Jay Larimer.
Survivors include sons, Rodney (Kathy) Larimer of Stuart and Roger (Kerri) Larimer of Hartford, Iowa; brother Dean (Gwen) Larimer of Lenox; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and a host of extended family all of whom will miss him greatly.
