Gary "Rip" Van Winkle, 77, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at his home in Panora, Iowa after a long battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Karla of Panora; sons, Dan (Deb) Van Winkle and Don Van Winkle both of Panora. Four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Brother, Larry (Garnet) Van Winkle.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Panora. Burial will be in Moffit Grove Cemetery, rural Guthrie Center. Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
