Funeral services for Gerald White, 48, of Des Moines were held October 23 from the Church of the Brethren near Panora. A native of Victory township, Mr. White died following an auto accident on Interstate 80 near Adair. He died in a Des Moines hospital two days following the accident.
Son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray White, he had lived in Guthrie Center before moving to Des Moines. His mother, Mrs. White, lives in Guthrie Center and other survivors include daughters, Marcia and Lorraine and a son, James all of Denver, Colo; his wife, Hattie, of Des Moines; sisters Pearl Smith, Panora; Hazel Miller, Yale; Irena Straight, Denver, and Elizabeth Jenness, Fresno, Calif; brothers Esper of Perry and Joe of Des Moines, and two grandchildren and eight step grandchildren.
Out-of-town relatives attending the funeral included his daughter, Marcia White Wasaff of Broomfield, Colo; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jenness, Jr, of Fresno, Calif; Mr. and Mrs. J Edward Straight, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Straight, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Howard, Jim, Michael and Teresa and Lila Kolbe all of Denver, Colo; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kinnaird of Omaha, Nebr; Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Kinnaird of Columbus, Mo; Melvin Miller of Mt. Prospect, Ill; Mr. and Mrs. Joe White, Don White, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Straight and David, Mr. and Mrs. Joey Kolbe, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Foresman and Mr. and Mrs. Vearl Ruskin of Des Moines.
Also Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Kinnaird of Lake Park; Mr. and Mrs. Roger Moyer, Mr. and Mrs. Roger McCully and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Kinnaird of Grinnell, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Arrowsmith of Winterset; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Nickols of Adair; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Miller of Yale; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Petersen, Joe Kolbe, Mr. and Mrs. Audrey Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith of Panora; Mrs. Marilyn Winnett and Mark of Coon Rapids and Mrs. Jessie Brain of Bagley.
Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Jenness, Jr, have returned to their home in Fresno, Calif, after spending a week with her mother, Mrs. Ray White, in the Joe White home in Des Moines.
Mr. and Mrs. J. Edward Straight have returned to their home in Denver, Colo. They had visited with her mother, Mrs. Ray White, and other relatives. Mrs. White had spent five weeks in their home and was there at the time of the accident.
Mrs. Gerald White spent several days with her mother-in-law, Mrs. Ray White, before leaving to spend a few weeks with her son, William Kinnaird.
