Funeral services were Saturday at 2 pm from the Slininger Chapel in Jefferson for Clarence L Huss who died in Jefferson December 20.
A native of Bayard, he had lived in Green county most of his life where he engaged in farming until he retired in 1945.
Rev Wilbur R Watkins of Bayard officiated at the service and Rev David Goin of Jefferson was soloist. Mrs. Curtis Wilson was organist.
Burial was in the Highland cemetery at Bayard and the casket was carried by Clifford Bancroft, Dale Christensen Jens Rugaard, George Patrick, Oliver Palmer and Albert Palmer.
Clarence L Huss was born April 9, 1900, in Guthrie county and passed away December 20 at Jefferson at the age of 72. He was the son of William and Mary Love Huss. Clarence attended school near Bayard.
April 9, 1921, Clarence was united in marriage with Bernice Moore. They farmed near Bayard and Scranton and in 1942 moved to a farm near Paton. In 1945 Clarence retired and the couple moved to Jefferson where they have since lived.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and a brother. He is survived by his wife, Bernice; two brothers, James of Bayard and Ernest of Perry; two sisters, Mrs. Will (Myrtle) Esslinger of Bayard and Mrs. Harry (Zetta) Philipsen of Des Moines; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
