"Laura Jane Moore, daughter of Reuben and Nancy Shank, was born May 23, 1863, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania and passed away in her home in Bagley March 3, 1954, at the age of 90 years, nine months and ten days. She was one of 12 children, four girls and eight boys. She came with her parents to Lee county, Illinois, in 1865, and in 1875 moved to a farm near Bagley. She has been a resident of this community for 79 years. For many years she has been a member of the Church of Christ in Bagley. She was united in marriage to William E. Moore November 6, 1884, and to this union were born three girls and four boys. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, William, who passed away April 1, 1923; a daughter, Nora, and a twin brother of Ralph who died in infancy; two sisters and six brothers. Those surviving are five children, Charles of Rippey; Oscar of Glidden; Mrs. Ada Peters of Bagley; Mrs. Clara Roberts of Iowa City, and Ralph of River Forest, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. also a sister Mrs. Filey (Viola) Duncan of Des Moines; two brothers, Robert J. Shank of Des Moines and Ezra Shank of Tulsa, Okla; other relatives and many friends. Final rites for Mrs. Moore were held from the Bagley Church of Christ at 2 p.m. March 6. George Clark, pastor, offered words of comfort. Music for the service was furnished by Mrs. Ray Corsaut and Mrs. Ivel Carroll. They were accompanied by Mrs. Roy Wagner. Six grandsons served as casketbearers: there were Lawrence Moore, Kent Burrell, Ronald Peters, Jack Roberts, Charles Moore and Robert Peters. Interment was made in the Richland cemetery."
