Funeral rites for Ray E. Dillavou will be today at 2 p.m. from the Slininger Chapel in Jefferson. A longtime and well known Bagley farmer, Mr. Dillavou died Tuesday in the Dallas County hospital in Perry. He entered the hospital last Friday.
Johnny Lee Davis, minister of the Bagley Church of Christ, will officiate and Mrs. Le Edwards will be organist. Interment will be made in the Dodge Center Cemetery.
Honorary bearers will be Frank Kolbe, Jim Irwin, Doug Westre, Dean Van Gundy, Robert Whitecotton and Sonny Kolbe. The casket will be carried by Charles Stanley, Marion Wilson, Konrad Dvorak, Vern Brobst and Frank and Steven Kastner.
Born in Kendrick Township, Green County, April 5, 1900, Mr. Dillavou was the son of William and Mary Wright Dillavou. At the age of 14 he moved to the Bagley area and has continued to farm in Dodge township. He had lived on the same farm south of Bagley for many years.
In February 1920 he married Iona Jean Stratton. They were parents of a daughter, Lila (Mrs. Francis) Kastner of Yale. Mrs. Dillavou died in 1935. Also preceding him in death were his parents, three infant daughters and a brother, Frank.
Besides his daughter, he is survived by four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, sisters, Minnie Sayre and Edna Brady, both of Jefferson, his housekeeper, Thelma Westre, and her three children and other relatives and friends.
