Funeral services for Mrs. Earl (Maude) Wampler 84, of rural Scranton, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton with Rev Clyde Sparks of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the Scranton Cemetery. A prayer servicer was held at the Funeral Home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Wampler, daughter of Grant and Grace Johnston Robson, was born on December 30, 1892, at Tulon, Illinois. Her marriage to Earl Wampler took place on December 25, 1913, at Scranton, She was a member of the Christian Science Mother Church in Boston, Mass.
Surviving are her husband, Earl, of Scranton; two daughters Mrs. Homer (Eleanor) French and Mrs. Roger (Bernice) McCullough and a son Lloyd Wampler, all of Scranton; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and one sister Mrs. Esther Norris of Grinnell.
She was preceded in death by two sisters an two bothers.
Mrs. Wampler died Friday at the Green County Extended Care Center in Jefferson following a long illness.
