Vince Stanley, 51, Services in Yale

Funeral services for Vincent LeRoy Stanley, 51, of Herndon will be today at 2:30 p. m. from the Marchant Funeral Home in Yale. A native of Herndon where he had spent most of his life, Mr. Stanley died Monday at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry where he had been a patient since last Thursday.

The service will be in charge of Rev. Vincent James, Methodist pastor of Bagley, and music will be furnished, by Mrs. Robert Van Gundy. Carrying the casket will be J. B. McConnell, Independence, Missiouri [Missouri], Ed Roerig, Des Moines, and Art McDermott, Calvin Meinecke, Jack Reese and Woodrow Tighe, all of Jamaica.

Honorary bearers will be Larry Correy, Eddie Davis, Claude Hasty, Carol Meinecke, Don Radebaugh and John Sheehy. Interment will be in the Richland Township cemetery.

Son of Fred and Fonny Stanley, Vincent was born May 11, 1923, at Bagley. He attended school in Herndon and Jamaica and served three years in the United States Army in World War II.

On March 23, 1946, he married Mildred Leigan of Des Moines and they have spent most of their married life in Herndon where they operated a grocery store for some time.

Vincent was a member of the Paul Johnson Post of the American Legion at Jamaica and he was a Mason and an Odd Fellow.

Mr. and Mrs. Stanley were parents of a son, William David of Bayard, and a daughter, Mrs. James (Jodi Lee) Bayers of Lubbock, Texas. Besides his widow and children he is survived by four grandchildren; brothers, Vernon of Herndon, Johnny of Elgin, Illinois, and Paul of Dubuque; sisters Mrs. Bob (Norma) Milligan of Jefferson, and Mrs. Gerald (Esther) Clouse of Panora.

His parents, two brothers, a sister and two granddaughters proceded him in death.
