Otto David Stonehocker, son of John David and Sarah Elizabeth Stonehocker, was born near Linden, Iowa December 29, 1903, and passed away at the University Hospital in Iowa City March 20, 1968 at the age of 64 years, two months and 20 days.

He was united in marriage to Florence Gregg on October 3, 1931. To this union were born ten children. A daughter, Marie Leeper, and a son, Leonard, preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Everett and a sister, Mildred Ruth Alexander.

He is survived by his wife, florence, and five daughter and three sons. The daughters, Mrs. Earl Cassady of Earlhan, Mrs. Lyle Leeper of Winslow, Nebraska, Mrs. Sarah Davis, Mrs. John Welton, and Miss Ruby Stonehocker, all of Des Monies; and sons Forres of Fremont, Nebraska, Floyd, of Elliot, Iowa, and Rex of Des Moines.

Also surviving are thiry grandchildren and one sister, Marie Kelly of Linden and two brother, Chester of Lorimore and LaVerne, of DeSoto. Besides these there are many nephews and nieces and hosts of friends whom he dade in his long residence in the Linden community. Mr. Stonehocker, a retired farmer, served as sexton of several cemeteries during the past seven years.

He has spent his whole life in Dallas and Guthrie counties where he will be greatly missed by his many friends.

Services were held on March 23, 1968 at 3 P.M. at the O.J. Beidelman Funeral Home in Panora with Rev. Morris bailey oficiating. Interment was at Morrisburg Cemetery. Casket Bearers were: Ben Stonehocker, Lester Stonehocker, Ronald Stonehocker, LeRoy Alexander, LaVerne Burnham and richard Burnham.
