ROGER JACOBSON, STUART

Roger Lynn Jacobson, 44, of Stuart died April 10, 2008, at Adair County Memorial Hospital in Greenfield.

Memorial services were held Saturday, April 12, at the Fontanelle United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Beard officiating. Burial was at Fontanelle Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Steen Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Roger Jacobson was born Jan. 16, 1964, in Greenfield to Max and Phyllis Jean (Campen) Jacobson and was a 1982 graduate of Bridgewater-Fontanelle High School. He was baptized in 1964 on Palm Sunday and was confirmed at the Highland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert Young. He transferred his membership to the Fontanelle United Methodist Church in December of 1981. Following high school, Roger took mechanical classes at Southwestern Community College in Creston. He worked for Wallace Auto Supply at both the Greenfield and Stuart locations for seven and one-half years. He then worked for Mid-West Connection in Ankeny for eight years and was currently employed with G+H and Brown Leasing in Greenfield. Roger also was a former member of the Stuart Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eimo and Elsie Campen and Fred and Verva Jacobson; his stepgrandmother, Helen Jacobson; and a brother, Stanley Jacobson.

He is survived by his parents, Max and Phyllis, of Greenfield; one son, Tyler Newby of Winterset; a sister, Sherri Menefee of Atlantic; two brothers, Mark Jacobson of St. Charles and Randy Jacobson of Ham Lake, Minn.; and special companion, Dee Eggers of Stuart.
