In Response To: Information about Henry Frace (Betty J. Frace Johnson)

Hi Betty,

I posted the death notice of Henry Frace on the Grundy Co. Obit board.

I did a quick search on ancestry and found the 1880 census, Lincoln twp, Grundy Co, Iowa, where Henry (listed as brother-in-law), single and age 55, was living with the John Ford family. It states he was born in Penn, as were both his parents. He was also with this family in 1870 in Illinois on the census. I didn't locate him on the 1860, but on the 1850 he is still living with appears his mother, Catherine, and several siblings (Louisa, being one of them which seems to be John Ford's wife). They were in Lehman twp, Luzerne Co, Pennsylvania.

John S. Ford, his wife and possibly other family members are buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Grundy Center. I didn't find any Frace known to be buried there (or anywhere in Grundy Co.), but it's very possible he is but I just haven't come across the records yet.

Let me know if you'd like me to forward you these census sheets and I'd be happy to.

I am currently viewing newspaper films from Grundy Co in the early/mid 1890s and haven't come across the Frace name again. Since Henry was unmarried, likely that line no longer existed in Grundy Co. after his death in 1885.

Hopefully some of the above information helps!

Tammy
(I am not related to the Frace family)
