Mrs. Herman Brandt, 61, Route 1, Waterloo, died of carcinoma at 3:50 p.m. Sunday in Isolation hospital where she had been a patient since March 16. Mrs. Brandt had been bedfast for the last three years.

Born Grace Pruisner on Aug. 15, 1883, at Parkersburg, Ia., daughter of Maine and Jennie Pruisner, she was married to Herman Brandt on Jan. 13, 1902, in Grundy county. The couple resided on a farm near Aplington before moving to Riverview addition, Route 1.

Mrs. Brandt was a member of the Baptist church at Buck Grove, Ia.

Surviving are her husband, now a patient at Isolation hospital; two sons, John and Menno Brandt, both of Shell Rock; four sisters, Mrs. John Huting, Seward, Ill.; Mrs. Minnie Brandt and Miss Hiska Pruisner, both of Buck Grove, and Mrs. Dan Huting, Parkersburg. Six grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Hillard.

The body was taken to O'Keefe & Towne funeral home.
