Curtis Jon Olthoff, 79, passed away March 2nd, 2025 at UIHC after a sudden illness.

Curt was born June 9th, 1945 in Eldora, Iowa to John and Deloris (Mommer) Olthoff. He was raised on a farm outside of Wellsburg (Grundy County) Iowa. He graduated from Wellsburg High School in 1963. Curt got his degree in Pharmacy from The University of Iowa in 1968. He was active in the Iowa Society of Hospital Pharmacists, serving as both treasurer and president. In 1992 he was honored as Iowa Hospital Pharmacist of the Year. Curt served as director of pharmacy at Lutheran Hospital (Moline, IL), St Luke's Hospital (Sioux City, IA), and Memorial Hospital (Shenandoah, IA). He retired from Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Curt was also honored by Governor Reynolds as a 50 year licensed pharmacist.

September 11, 1966 Curt married Kay Pagel and they had 2 children, Kelli Lynn and Christopher Jon. They were also blessed with 2 grandsons, Andrew and Jacob.

In 2022, Curt and Kay moved to The Estates of North Liberty. Curt was an active member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He loved attending his grandson's sporting events, especially baseball games. He and Kay loved to travel, particularly to Colorado, where they spent their summers for several years. Cruising was another favorite, having just gotten home from their 17th. Curt was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and as a woodworker built many beautiful pieces.

Curt is survived by his wife of 58 years, daughter Kelli (Tim), son Christopher (Kami), grandsons Andrew and Jacob, brother Craig (Nancy), brother-in-law Roger Pagel (Mariedith) and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Deloris.

Services to be held on a later date.
