Abe Propst passed away Tuesday, April 29, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Betty Lou Propst at Brandywine, West Virginia. Recently hospitalized with a broken hip, he had been recovering well and was dismissed from the hospital. Mr. Propst had lived many years in the Ivester, Marshalltown, and Melbourne areas. Funeral services were held at the Iowa River Church of the Brethren Saturday. Among those attending were Galen and Gertrude Albright, Miles and Gwen Albright, Bernice Reist, Beatrice Draper, Zelma Butler, Maryann Reeder, George and Isabelle Bakker, and Alfred and Wilma Kruschwitz. Following the committal service at the Sheller Cemetery, 40 relatives and friends gathered at the Ivester Church for a fellowship hour.

Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Propst and their sons Michael and Greg and daughter Mrs. Altor Holand flew from McAllen, Texas to attend the service for Mr. Propst. Mrs. Margaret Imguria of Glendale, California, a daughter of Mr. Propst, and Mrs. Flossie Lund of San Luis Obispo, California, a niece, both came for the service.
