N. H. Thrasher Dead

N. H. Thrasher died at his home in Morrison Sunday morning and he was buried yesterday. Mr. Thrasher was an old soldier and the members of the G.A.R. of this place and Reinbeck took charge of the funeral.

Mr. Thrasher has been in poor health for a long time but the final summons came quickly, his last illness being of but a few days duration. He was known as an enthusiastic G.A.R. man, having served as a private in the war of the rebellion from July 1861 to November 1865, which of course means that anything of interest to the old veterans of his day was of interest to him. Formerly he lived at Vinton, Iowa, but for many years past has been a resident of the home which he left for the future world. He was a member of Thompson Post and by his request the Post with their impressive ceremony.

N. H. Thrasher was born in Pique county, Ohio, August 30, 1832 and died at his home in Morrison, Iowa, last Sunday, aged 74 years and 7 months. He leaves behind him an aged wife, three sons and six daughters, all of whom are receiving the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends and neighbors who have known them for "Lo, these many years." The children are all grown and somewhat scattered into homes of their own choosing, there being one daughter residing at Morrison who has kept a watchful eye on the parents in these hours of trial.
