L. B. Kauffman

Lewis Balfour Kauffman was born March 17, 1886, at Eldred, Penn., and died at his home Feb. 16, 1905.

He came to Morrison, Ia., in 1891. He was a diligent student and was beloved by his teachers. A bright future was marked out for him. He was a young man of exemplary conduct, a worthy mode for those with whom he associated. About two years ago his health began to fail and on examination it was found that the dreadful disease of diabetes had made inroads upon his health to which he finally succumbed.

He united with the Presbyterian church in July 1902 and was a faithful attendant at Sabbath school and church and will be missed in his accustomed places and among his large circle of friends.

He leaves to mourn his death a father and mother, two brothers, Robert and George, and one sister, May, two brothers, William and James, dying in infancy.

The funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at Morrison Feb. 19, and was largely attended by friends and neighbors. The services were conducted by Rev. A. Rederus assisted by Rev. H. B. Dye, his former pastor.

Card of Thanks
We remember with sincere gratitude the aid and kindness received from our friends and acquaintances, including the choir of the school children and the donors of the flowers during our recent bereavement who rendered such comforting assistance, we take this opportunity to convey to them our heartfelt appreciation.
