Morrison Farmer Dies Following Appendix Attack

Brandt Stumm, a farmer residing three miles northeast of Morrison, died at the Presbyterian hospital in Waterloo early Tuesday morning from intestinal paralysis which followed an operation for appendicitis which was performed last Saturday. Mr. Stumm had been given to appendix trouble from time to time and on Saturday went to the hospital to have the appendix removed.

Funeral services will be held at the church in Morrison on Friday. Burial will be by the side of the wife in the Morrison cemetery. Mr. Stumm was 51 years old. He was born on August 10th, 1882. He operated a farm for several years in the eastern part of Grundy county. His wife died about ten years ago.

Surviving relatives are four sons and one daughter. The sons are Leslie and Charles from Reinbeck, Roy from Santa Monica, Calif., and James from Marietta, Ohio. The daughter, Mrs. Ella Collar, resides in Pennsylvania.
