Services Held For Myrtle Morrison, 94

Myrtle M. Morrison, 94, died Tuesday night, January 8, 1985 at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck, where she had been a resident for four years.

Funeral services were held at the United Methodist Church in Reinbeck at 2 p.m. Friday, January 11 with Rev. John Schlosser officiating.

Burial was in the Morrison cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Dean Senning, Ronald Bloxham, David VanHeiden, Scott Sexton and Robert Sexton.

Ushers were Robert Thompson and Wayne Fogt. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bown and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fogt were flower attendants.

Special music was by Mrs. Beth Thompson and Donald Schildroth with Mrs. Jeanette DeWolf as organist.

Myrtle was born May 10, 1890 in Dickinson Co., IA, the daughter of Joseph and Nellie Barrows Robbins. She attended schools in Grundy county and State Teachers College at Cedar Falls. She taught rural schools in Grundy county and South Dakota.

On December 28, 1910, she was united in marriage to Robert Morrison. They farmed in the Morrison and Grundy Center area until they moved to Carthage, SD in 1917. They moved back to Morrison in 1933 where they farmed until they moved to Reinbeck in 1951. She was a member of the Reinbeck United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by a son, Russell, his wife Anna of Reinbeck; a daughter, Ardele Senning of Grundy Center; a daughter, Joy Sexton of Reinbeck; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Victor Robbins of Victorville, CA and Lester Robbins of Howard, SD.

We wish to thank our friends and relatives for the food, cards, memorials and flowers we have received at the time of our Mother's passing on. We thank Pastor John Schlosser for her memorial service, and his thoughtfulness to Mother during her illness, also we thank the church members who served the lunch after the service. We want to especially thank those who gave such loving care to our Mother at Parkview Manor.
