Mrs. Emma Finney Dies at Hospital

Mrs. Emma Jane Finney, a long time resident of Morrison, died early Monday morning at the St. Francis hospital in Waterloo, where she had been a patient since last Thursday. Death was caused from euremic poisoning. She was 82 years old.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Morrison, with Rev. Virgil Smith in charge. Burial was made in the Morrison cemetery.

Emma Jane Fosha, daughter of Rev. William and Salina Fosha, was born in Illinois on March 26, 1865. She spent her early childhood in Illinois and Kansas. Shortly after her marriage to Ira Finney on Oct. 22, 1891, the couple moved to Morrison, Grundy county, Iowa, where they made their home continually. Mr. Finney died Jan. 11, 1939. Mrs. Finney stayed in Morrison until two years ago when she went to Dike to make her home with the Herman Kubler family, who have since moved to Cedar Falls.

The deceased is survived by three children, Mrs. Vane Sweet, Des Moines; Mrs. Luella Phillips, Pomona, Calif.; and William Finley of Gig Harbor, Wash. One daughter died in infancy. There are also 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She also has one brother, Fred Fosha of Centuria, Wis.
