Eldora Carpenter Ends Life With Strychnine

Eldora-- Charles Arnold, 48, ended his life here Thursday night by taking strychnine. Arnold returned to his home about 10 o'clock and told his family that he had taken poison. His story was not credited at first, but he soon became violently ill. The sheriff and a physician were summoned but Arnold was dead before the latter arrived.

Coroner Ed Biersborn was called from Union and after an investigation announced there would be no inquest.

Arnold came here from Whitten 10 or 12 years ago. He was born in Missouri and followed a carpenter's trade. He is survived by his widow, two sons and two daughters.

Arnold Rites Sunday

Eldora--Funeral services for Charles Arnold, 48, who died at his home in the north part of town Friday, will be held Sunday afternoon in the Methodist church in Whitten, in charge of Rev. Mr. Swanson. Burial will be in the Benson cemetery.

Eldora Drayman Dies of Strychnine

Eldora--A post mortem examination of Charles Arnold, 49, who died Thursday evening, revealed strychnine in his stomach, Sheriff J. E. Davidson said Tuesday. Arnold, a local drayman, is survived by his wife and four children.
