Flossie Weatherly Hollcroft Passes Away

Mrs. Flossie Hollcroft, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Weatherly, of Palermo township, Grundy County, died at the St. Thomas Mercy hospital in Marshalltown Friday, Jan. 22, after an illness of six days. Heart trouble and complications caused her death.

Mrs. Flossie Hollcroft was born on Dec. 3, 1905, at Buffalo Center, Iowa, and passed away Jan. 23, 1937, at the age of 32. She moved with her parents to Grundy county when she was but 6 months old, and resided on a farm in Palermo township until 1926 when she moved to Marshalltown where she was employed.

She was united in marriage Nov. 26, 1931 to Lawrence K. Hollcroft and continued to live in the Marshalltown vicinity up to the time of her death.

During her life time, her favorite hobby was the raising of many kinds of poultry. She had won numerous ribbons at fairs and poultry shows on her many fine poultry exhibits.

Included among her survivors are the parents, and seven brothers, Earl, Bert, and Fletcher of Grundy Center, Ernest and James of Garwin, and Eugene and LeRoy of Marshalltown.

Funeral services were held at the Alice Church of God, Monday afternoon at 1:30. Rev. P. G. Dennis, pastor of the Christian church in Marshalltown conducted the service. Burial was made in the Alice cemetery.
